Gods of Metal 2009 - from Cynic, Down and Napalm Death - more frolics on tap...

I texted Cristina from Lacuna Coil on Friday to find out whether she'd be at Gods on Sunday. "Darling! No, we're playing Graspop, hope we can see each other some other time..." I am in Milan for a month but as it happens Lacuna Coil are very busy until August. I'd just got back from watching the Carcass show on Sunday when I returned to the VIP area with Lou The Genius, the guy who makes Mastodon fans feel sexy as he sells the Atlanta band's merch. Barbara's mate Damien who plays in Italian black metal band, Mortuary Drape joined us and as we reached the bar, we bumped into my favourite person - Brann Dailor. Not sure how I can explain this but Brann is the only one that can make me howl with laughter, aside Stephen Colbert. So, you do the maths. I introduced him to Damien and then I have no idea what happened as I got locked in silly banter with the talented drummer. Witty guy, highly addictive.

The only thing that got me to move from that awesome spot w…

Gods of Metal 2009 - from Slipknot and Dream Theater to Mastodon and Carcass - fun on tap...

I got up early on Sunday morning and borrowed my brother's car to drive to Monza where Gods of Metal was held this year. Monza is a small town with a big stadium in the province of Milan. Before you hold your breath reading this concoction of metal related anecdotes, I didnt attend the festival until Sunday. This is due to the fact that I couldnt be part of that clique of peeps that were responsible for the hole in the Ozone layer inthe '80s - Motley Crue, Lita Ford, Tesla & Co. I did regret not seeing Queensryche and Heaven and Hell. "The only problem with Heaven and Hell last night," ranted Jeff Walker on stage, "was that they were followed by Motley Crue." The Carcass set was not only peppered by classic gems like 'Corporeal Jigsaw Quandry' and 'Heartwork'...

Ever since the band reformed last year, they've been riding on a high but is Bill Steer satisfied, I wondered aloud backstage as Jeff Walker hovered prior to their performance…

Nine Inch Nails, Korn, the peeps from Roadrunner Italy and the "Unfuckables"...

I feel I suffer from that "same shit, different continent" syndrome. After leaving New York on Wednesday and landing in Milan on Thursday, there was no escaping the jet-lag shit. I didnt sleep for 34 hours and by the time I hit the pillow on Thursday night, I was wasted. On Friday eve, I got ready to make my way to the venue - Idroscalo - to see bands like Mars Volta, Korn and Nine Inch Nails, amongst others. They graced the stage on a day that was, at best, wet and humid. One of my favourite American bands of the last ten years, Killswitch Engage were also supposed to be performing but cancelled at the last minute for personal reasons. Shame. I was looking forward to drooling over Howard Jones' vocal performance once again. "Vocal performance".

Earlier in the day, I bumped into the mum of an old school friend of mine. I was on my way to this shopping centre in my home town with my own mother (and her favourite past time is "hanging out in this conglomerati…

"Moon", cocks, dildos, getting ready for Europe and more cocks...

I am not sure what I have been doing the last three weeks but I have certainly not been updating this blog. I have very little time left since I am ready to "invade Europe" tomorrow...

So, in brief:

I spent a lot of time with Mooncat, generally talking about cocks and comparing notes cos, after three years, she broke the no-sex spell. To a super hot and feral man. Her yoga teacher. Bless.

I hooked up with two Jews, one was 26, from Israel and the other one a 20-year-old who still lives with his wealthy mum around Union Square. The 20-year-old was surprising but now I am so bored of hooking up with random Jews. I want my own.

I also went out with the amazing James G, first dinner and then we saw this band at some venue in Delancey. The event was arranged by Militia, a hot black girl friend of Van Hagar who I'd met last year. Van Hagar was enamoured with Militia's mate, Jenn back then but they never got down to any business...

I avoided the Nine Inch Nails gig cos I am goi…
