Bernie Sanders inspired millions of people to get off their sofas, turn off their TVs and join the political revolution in the streets and on social media, but he did not educate the younger ones to what it would be really like if they did not vote for Hillary Clinton in the general elections. There are two main points on this: 1) Sanders, who used to communicate with his grassroots' people and donors via email during the primaries, somehow did not think that explaining why he was endorsing Clinton to his supporters directly by email would be a big deal (this happened a few days before the Democratic Convention in July); 2) He forgot to educate the ones with less political experience on the difference between getting all hopped up during a primary and toning it down once your candidate does not get the nomination. Notwithstanding the rain, Jack Shultz and I ventured outside and kept up with the Bernie program. Star Wars' 'The Force Awakens' had its opening night in NYC and we made it our business to spread the Bernie word to those wanna-be Jedis queuing outside the movie theater. Did the Upper West Side feel the Bern? A good 80% of people we interacted with today were either supportive of or open to Bernie's message.
